Summer study abroad

Interested in biodiversity conservation? Have a desire to experience another culture? Join us on the innaugural Thailand: Exploring Culture and Conservation trip! Dr. Lydia Light will be taking a group of undergraduates to Thailand this summer for a study abroad course in which students will earn three credits in anthropology and three credits in biology. Students will spend more than two weeks at Dr. Light’s primate research site in western Thailand learning primate field methods and conducting independent projects. Then the group will travel to other regions of the Kingdom to visit wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centers and to gain an understanding for the ecological variation that exists within the country. The course will challenge students in many ways but will also provide an opportunity for hands-on experience in conservation science as well as deep personal growth.
