Dr Ipshita Ghosh is a cultural anthropologist with focus on economic anthropology and medical anthropology. Ipshita has conducted ethnographic fieldwork with health technology startup companies in India which formed the basis for her doctoral dissertation. Her current research examines how experiences of pollution-linked debility shapes the idea of value and work for white collar workers in India. She served as a Board Member of Society for Economic Anthropology from 2021 to 2023 and has published in peer reviewed journals Economic Anthropology and Anthropology of Work Review. Ipshita holds a PhD in Anthropology and Master’s in Public Administration from Maxwell School of Public Affairs, Syracuse University, and a Master’s in Area Studies (South Asia) from the University of Oxford.
